Yeah basically. Except you can only play as a human, but there are a total of ten (I think) "professions" that you can play as. (Warrior, Necromancer, Monk, Elementalist, Ritualist, Assassin, Dervish, Mesmer, Paragon, and Ranger) You can combine two professions when you're creating a character. It's both PvE and PvP oriented.
Future installments will allow other races to be playable.

Is Guild Wars an online game where u can pick and design your character (like races and such) and then... interact with other ppl around the world? what are the races if there r any? I went to there website but it was like really lame and didn't explain things.

Their noobs. If you dont like WoW cuz u gotta pay 15$ a month thats BS. I spend that much on lunch a day. The reson i perfer GW is i played WoW for 2 months and when i got to 50+ i did a raid which took 5+ hrs. I was like fuck this. I didnt even get the epic i wanted...

if you dont have the game then please dont make comments like that lol, some people are very touchie about keeping this game very balanced.... and it should stay that way.
the level cap will never be raised. if you do not like that, then you may want to consider playing Wow, thats all he was suggesting.... no need to go crazy ;)

It looks cool. Think that annoyed me about factions was that you can never get in a team with an assassin. Everyone who went them tanked with them like noobs and there were always loads. Hopefully character variety will balance out quicker this time, but it will prob be worse.
and hey, maybe this time experience will be better and you wont get 4,000exp for taking a shit :D
