Album: A River Ain't Too Much To Love

http://www.last.fm/music/Smog

The longest train I ever saw
Went down that Georgia line
The engine went by at six oclock
And the cab went by at nine

In the pines
In the pines
Where the sun never shines
And we shiver
When the north wind blows

Well I asked the captain
For the time of day
He said he
Threw his watch away

A long steel rail
And a short cross tie
And Im on my
Way back home

In the pines
In the pines
Where the sun never shines
And we shiver
When the north wind blows

Little girl
Little girl
What have I done
That makes you treat me this way
Well you have caused
Me to weep
You caused me to moan
You caused me to leave my home

In the pines
In the pines
Where the sun never shines
And we shiver
When the north wind blows

  • thanks so much for posting this song! what film is the video from?

  • @waywardaughter

Hey, thank you for the comment, and no problem! Bill Callahan is a great singer/songwriter. I'm not sure of all the clips I used, but the last quarter is from the silent film adaptation of the novel called, "For the Term of His Natural Life, by Marcus Clarke." I used scenes for a few other songs too.

    Hope that helps!
