Hi Mahbub. Thank you for your comment. Shanta Islam asked me to conduct the interview in English as the Sylheti I spoke was not deemed acceptable for broadcast. I was reared in England not Ireland, but I am based in the latter country. Yes my mother taught me to read Bangla, I speak Sylheti with an English accent, but if you are surrounded mostly in part by non-Bangladeshis then the language is irrelevant to you, but English is
