I totally agree. Every time I jam, I have this nasty habit of doing a fill every 4 measures, and of course it follows with me when I perform live shows. So I'm glad you addressed this, not only to me, to any drummer who's willing to swallow their pride and watch this to understand where you're coming from when it comes to building a more balanced performance with any musical establishment.

i feel you man some songs dont even need chops

Fills kick the band to take them to higher places, I'm not talking about monster chops but I'm saying a well placed fill will make a phrase sound better than it would without. Iunno just sayin

I agree!!!! Keep it simple and create a deep pocket for the band to groove with.

I totally agree with you man!!! from one drummer to another.the problem with alot of drummers these days they have more focus towards learning the fills and licks and tricks but can't groove and stay in the pocket!! Music can't breathe when tooo much is going on it chokes it!!! So keep doing your thing man !!Respect!!!

I totally agree with you! Many drummers just forget it's not about them, it's about the artist. You will get so many more gigs if u stay in the pocket, and wen it's tine to showcase ur stuff, showcase ur stuff!
