From March 19 to 21, 2010, I was trackside along CSX's busy former NYC Waterlevel Route and NS' former Nickel Plate Road mainline. The action was pretty intense, and some good photos and video clips were caught! Enjoy!

Well, the "M" just refers to the m style cab. And an sd70ac would look like a spartan cab sd70 with ac traction motors. But I know what you mean :)

The "M" stands for "American Safety Cab."
Read the designation for the locomotives beneath the numbers on the side of the cab. CSX refers to them as SD70AC's. That is also what they're called on the Blue Card in the cab. I've ran quite a few of these units.

Also, an AC traction SD70 spartan cab would just be considered an SD70. There would be no following designation. The existing SD70's are DC traction, and they have nothing in their title indicative of that...
