I'm in Britian so I don't know, but did Rick Perry just get away this? This family never even filed some kind of lawsuit against him for wrongly executing that poor man? Rick Perry should be locked away for making that kind of mistake AND THEN COVERING IT UP?! It's absoloutley crazy that he got away with it!

@mikedamat What a silly thing to say. It might be expensive in terms of lawyers and appeals, but a living person consumes resources until they die. If the system is remotely efficient, then no manner of execution could possible be more costly. This is one of the few things I agree with Republicans on. The world is overpopulated, and everyone walks around with this narcisstic belief that they have a right to reproduce as much as they want. Change that, or kill people. Dealer's choice.

Also, it's more expensive to execute people than life in prison, so you don't get that either.

This is why I think a belief in god can be harmful. People say without God people would feel compelled to kill each other, I believe it's the other way round, you go out and kill innocent people without much remorse because you don't fully appreciate mortality: "Dem der folks be with JEEZUS now, so it ain't matter."

Executing the innocent doesn't matter to a guy like Rick Perry. He thinks a god will sort it all out and forgive him of any mistakes he makes throughout his life.
