  • what does this mean Pakistani pipes ?

are they made in Pakistan ?

  • @donnyab yes. stay away from them!

  • Try putting a good reed in it. It will sound much better than the plastic one it probably came with and it will slow the air flow so the bag stays inflated. Do this and you will be fine. Use cane reeds.

  • @shantysongs thanks for the advice. you're the second person to tell me that, so hopefully that's all i really need.

  • You should know your scale long before you buy a full set of pipes. I think my little sister could play my GHB set for the first time better than this guy. Pipes take work. You dont just buy a set of Paki-craps and think you are going to be able to figure them out!

  • @MrOmahaBB Yeah, I did some research before hand, watching videos and such. I didn't expect to just have that perfect sound right off the bat, considering most pipers say it takes years to master. But I've heard much better from other beginners, and I thought I'd at least do better than this.

I'll just have to wait a couple years before I get more money saved up for a set from a city nearby.

  • My advice is keep working at - just try to sustain an A note at first. That will get you into the bag and bellows technique. Then move on to G-A-B combinations. Practice little and often at the start. Half an hour at a time but do it every day.

  • your problem (as mine when I bought a pakistan uilleann pipe) is the chanter and the reed.... throw away that f****n' plastic reed and bought a good cane reed, then you probably have to change the chanter, and your pipe will sound good!

  • To není dudama ale rukama kamráde :)

  • Thanks for this video!! It made me LAUGH with the baby crying and the goosy sound. Just my sense of humor. I LOVE THIS!!!

  • geeze, that thing sounds like a dieing cow, no offense

  • I never knew those kind of pipes were made in Pakistan. I play the Highland pipes and have tried those kind but found the bellows and bag thing confusing LOL. I don't really like the sound of even the best sets that much anyway but an African blackwood set would sound much better than those. If you'r really keen on learning them,Find a teacher. You can find them online and some even give online lessons.Oh, and get an ABW set but don't give up.Good luck.

  • Costed is not a word.

  • I also bought a paki set :D it was really funny.. then I finally got a real Irish set and now I'm playing xD

  • the best vid in YouTube!!!!

    Thank you!

not only the Paki-UP`s are really bad, also the Paki-GHB`s are Bad!!!!

  • I'd say just pack them away. I had gotten a set of Highland bagpipes from Pakistan as my first set. I changed the chanter reed, the drone reeds, the bag leaked so much that you could feel the breeze halfway across the room. Eventually, I just got tired of it and got a good set. If you life on the US east coast, you can look into Nick Whitmer's uilleann pipes. Their a bit cheaper than others, and still sound good.
