Kareta Kareta, the sea turtles of Kefalonia


They love the sand and the warm waters of Kefalonia and this is why you should be extra careful when you are swimming at the beaches of Kateleios cove. This is the main location where the tortoises lay their eggs and hopes for the perpetuation of their kind on the island. There are sea turtles in other spots of Kefalonia as well, Potamakia, Mounta, Paradeisi, Lourdas and Koutavos in Argostoli are some of them. Volunteers from all over the world come on the island every year to help save the endangered species.
