Dude you`ve listen to the wrong music, every genre has it ups and downs! Have you ever listen NaS, Krs-1, Bonethugz, naughty by nature and many many others? Don`t insult rap just cause you dont receive the message properly, i can say the same shit about rock, many bands worship Satan and other crap, does that mean rock music is bullshit? I love rap music, not 50cent or lil wayne shit, the real stuff, but i also like rock music. Get your facts right before you say embarrasing things!

Now, I`m not a rap fan but you have to understand there`s a very large amount of it that`s not disrespectful towards women or is gangster. That`s like saying all metal is satanic, which is absurd. There is a large underground hip hop scene that subject matter often deals with very real issues that are often close to home.

I hear where you are coming from..I use to like rap until it went south & commercial..The artists iwasbornonapril4 mentions r some of those groups I use to listen to. But that was a point in time before Rap music went 2 shit & all ganster focusing on sex, guns & bling BS. There is alot of crap being pumped on the radio. But I agree people fail to realize the effect it has on the youth, But hey I guess it's okay to write songs about blow jobs & let the kids sing along (Flo rida-whistle)

well i grew up with good rap the kind that you can understand the lyrics without needing to look em up but nowadays i stumbled across "soljua boy" his song rack city and my god id think they whole song was just a repeat of those three words "rack city bitch" i mean no disrespect to the genre but its just alot of these genres are getting ridiculous for music topics

i'm black and i barely listen to hip hop. if you think about it. the people who buy the music are mostly white or non black. blacks are only about 13% of the population and not every black person listens to rap, so if they were the only ones buying the music ,rap would have died already. just like grunge did.
