@jebr1983 I think so too.Franco wanted 1 thing only,to"save"Spain,meaning save the Church,save the fedural land.owners,save the upper.class.He had no desire to learn peasents to read,own land and so on,he wanted the old ways back---the son follows the farther in his job,no matter what the job.Why should a working mans son read,hes mission in life is---to work.Nothing ells.France was a true conservative,old school,absoutly no democratic in any way.He kept Spain back for years,dark-ages.

@RebelSonBand agree. He had no interest in poor starving people or how to build spain up in the future after the war. He wasn't a true nationalist he didn't love Spain he loved himself. What did he do with the unemployed or poor people he let the go to other countries to get work to send money back in the coffers of Spain. Why not try and take Spain through a reformation economically and socially.This was done by the democrats after 1975.These guys saved Spain they deserve the respect!

@GBNATIONALIST1 Franco did not want any social progress for the ppl,he wanted a status q.....Hitler wanted a class-less sociaty,Mussolini was a socialist before becomming a fascist and also wanted progress for working ppl...Franco was had nothing to do with the 2 ideologys in this way....But hes total leader-ship,dictator.style,is ecatly the same as Hitler+Musse......

If I've said it once, I've said it a Million times........Francisco Franco wasn't a Fascist or a Nazi, he was an old fashioned Autocratic Dictator who was reputedly Half- Jewish and used Moorish Troops to launch his aborted Coup in the Canary Islands in 1936!!!!!

I get really bored of Ignorami who bleat on about Fascist this and Nazi that blah blah blah and have not got a clue about the History of Spain or anywhere else for that matter!!!!!!!!!!!
