Vetoja e popullit për ndryshimet kushtetuese është një mundësi qe Partia Socialiste po e merr ne konsiderate ne rast se maxhoranca refuzon propozimin e opozitës për ndërhyrje ne ligjin themeltar te shtetit. Pandeli Majko, një prej figurave me te njohura te selisë roze, vlerëson se ndryshimet ne kushtetute kërkojnë një debat gjere dhe bisedime mes te dy palëve. Por aty ku nuk gjendet gjuha e përbashkët, mund te përdoret referendumi si një mekanizëm jo i debatit politik, por si një proces ku qytetarit i jepet e drejta për te vendosur për çështje te rëndësishme. Sipas Majkos, vullneti i shprehur nga PS për ndryshimin e kushtetutës është shenja me pozitive e kursit te ri te opozitës, duke paralajmëruar se deputetet socialiste nuk do ti votojnë te gjitha ligjet me shumice te cilësuar ne bllok sipas kërkesave te maxhorances, pasi ky është një proces ku opozita ka interesat e veta.
