@SueSnell I think its more noticable in her later recordings - maybe the aging of her voice.

@ChristophePhilippe - I luuuuuvvv Doris like mad, but you're correct about the vibrato, which is why I do love so many of her early recordings when she didn't use it.

I'd gladly appreciate if someone could upload them!

@Dayniac4324 If you had a contract you pretty much had to play by those rules. I think Doris said Sinatra bought out his contract and moved on.
I really don't agree with your perception of Doris ... but thats what makes the world go around .. to each his own.

@ChristophePhilippe Well ... don't know that I can see her as frustrating ! In those days, you did what your music label told you. In a few cases you were lucky and got to do the things you wanted. Rosemary Clooney was under contract to Columbia also and in one instance was told by Mitch Miller - head of the studio - you sing this song or you won't sing any others !
so beautiful!!!!!

I really love this entire collection on the "Duet" album with Previn.Doris's ability to convey the true sentiment of a lyric is exemplified here on almost every track. Her talent simply mutes me. This and the "Latin for Lovers" album are my most favorite Day offerings. Thank you for posting this lovely music. I appreciate it and what you do more and more.

@dayfan1962 I'm with you ... I love this album. And my other favorite is Show Time. Possibly because my Mom had them and I started listening to them when I was 10 !! But - on both albums she does just as you described - conveying the true meaning of the song, and as written ! Thats big for me - she simply sings THE SONG ! And beautifully ! I'm so happy you're enjoying her great songs !! Thank you !
