Wow, I saw them live about 1970 ate UNC Chapel Hill. Then I HAD to buy the album, of course. Too Bad I don't have it anymore. I Love their music, and their vitality.
I'm so excited to see this! My mother dated Harry Headley (I called him Harry Daddy) in the band when I was 2 yrs old so I spent hours listening to him practice and perform live and in studio. What happy memories. Thank you for posting this!
Hi SG. Were you specifically looking for 'Apeman' as performed by the Steel Band? Or did you hear the original? If so, then you merely need to look for The Kinks or Ray Davies, their vocalist, who wrote it.
I first heard this song in the 80's. It was the opening song on the radio show called "As I Please" hosted by Simon Loekle on WBAI in NYC. I looked far and wide but it took You Tube to make it possible to enjoy it again. Thanks for posting it!

Featured on Hot Chips Bugged Out mix. It's just a little bit better than the Kinks Version

My father was the percussionist for this band. Ijust visited Trinidad this year and met some of the old members.
I wasn't expecting anyone to have the album. I have it at home on both vinyl and CD.
