Under Reagan the public debt rose from 26% of GDP in 1981 to 41% in 1988. Thats a debt of $712 billion in 1981 and $2052 billion in 1988. During those years the minimum wage was never increased and the number of Americans living bellow the poverty line increased 8.4%
