LPs Finger Shot and Rhythm Ring. They are both ~ $7 delivered and totally worth the money.
Construction and sound wise they are completely different.
Rhythm ring is a round plastic tube filled with metal beads and sounds like a mini shaker. You can use in a "ring position", when playing your percussion or as a standalone mini shaker.
Finger Shot is made of aluminum and what is more important has a membrane inside, which prevents beads to hit the upper part of the enclosure. As the result it has much more precise and snappish sound, which you get when your hand goes down and down only.
Personally I think they are both great. LP is more suited for "studio" use. With RR you can join any gig, even if you forgot to bring your djembe.

  • Hi, how do you think abbout Schlagwerk shake hands? Its two egg shakers you "wear" on your whole hand. I love this thing. Greetings from Germany.

  • @djembegrobi "shake hands" are not easily found here, but looks like a nifty idea.

  • hey there. dont forget you can use the rhythm ring with a ukulele and a guitar.

  • @fpmedici I've tried to use them with guitar today. It's ok, but not that great - RR is a bit too much and LP is not well suited for side shakes - sounds only good if you slap the deck. In which case it's much better to learn how to use guitar as a percussion - wrist for a a bass, strings as a hat and fingers as a snare.

  • the finger shot seems really cool i wonder how they get it so only work going down... i guess just muffle or bad the top of the inside of the shaker huh

  • very informative, the ring is the thing

  • Very useful. I have finger shots, but didn't know the Rhythm Ring existed. Both serve a different purpose, and your configuration of one on each hand adds a unique quality to the beat. Thank You!
