That is totally right, let you baby animal have its forbidden food. I would completely do that if I get put in that position with my Coco.

@LaylaGordon I am sorry about your loss. What kind of disease/illness did Georgie have? Yes, I believe they now hang out together over the rainbow bridge.

Thank you for your kind words as well. I am doing better now. Although I think of Dinky all the time. I have two cats now, and both are approaching old age for cats. I know I will be devastated when they pass. I try not to think about that now and just enjoy everyday. But I know your pain very well. We love our little friends, and knowing that they love us in return makes the friendship worthwhile. They are our babies.

@toodlum48 Bart's fibrosarcoma did not burst, but as you can see from the video, it became so big that she was not comfortable lying down as well. I posted her videos is to tell cat owners that this is the result without doing anything (and it seems like Tigger's situation was worse EVEN with the surgery.) Like what you said, I will never do it again (hopefully I don't have to) and it was a prolong painful and unforgettable process. In 7 days, it marks Bart's 2nd anniversary...

@cfud The fibrosarcoma did burst that morning. He was in constant pain and could not get comfortable lying down as he was in pain. I gave him pain medication. You could see the look of pain in his eyes. The last day, he had begun to hide completely by getting inside the bathroom cabinet under the sink & that is not good! But the experience is something I will never do again! While I know it was best, he still had that fight left although he was losing it. I never want to witness it ever again.

@toodlum48 I'm so sorry about your loss of Tigger. When you said "at point of bursting", did it actually burst? Bart, the cat in this video, had some of her flesh became dead meat and fell off at one point. Couple months after that, it came to the point there are maggots growing from the tumor area and we had to put Bart down. We were severely depressed because Bart was not seriously illed except the tumor. The vets I've talked to speculate it's due to the annual shot Bart had over the years.
I am sorry for your loss. I am crying as I type. I had to go through the same thing with my dog, Dinky, anout five years ago. I know it is hard.

@neurospizz75 Thanks for the kind words. I feel depressed every time a cat passes away (I used to have 11 cats and 9 of them are gone in the past 8 years) and it hurts me a lot every time I think deep about them. Although your loss of Dinky has been 5 years, hope you're doing fine by now.

Bless you for your love and compassion you held out for Bart - I relate to your experience my boy Toby had renal failure and we kept him alive with daily IV therapy for 8 months following his diagnosis - I was told he would let me know when it was his time to go - true to the word that last night I slept on my balcony (in November) for his breathing was better, As sick and weak as he had become he managed to climb up and on me - I looked into his eyes and I knew now was his time to go ..tears

@92359hg I am so sorry. We just had one more cat (had 2 cats with renal issues before) passed away EXACTLY one month ago (9/27/2011) due to renal failure, so I know exactly how you feel. Although all 3 cats that passed away due to renal failure had no energy to climb or walk to me on their last days. Other people would never know how much tears flooded out of my eyes before and after each incidence. Even as I'm writing now, I can't control my tears for each and everyone of them.

@cfud I cried the whole time I was watching your video - it is like the loss of a child -- he was lucky to have had you - when our first cat broke her hip we took her for surgery - most people we told said they would put the cat to sleep instead of paying out all sort of monies - I can not wrap my head around that thinking - these people are not shallow - they are dried up with no heart ..again bless you and Bart

@92359hg We put Bart to sleep 5 days after her cat mommy passed away from renal issues. It was devestating to us. We used to have 11 cats and now we're now down to 2. It's very painful to let any of them go but our principle is not to have any of them suffer if they're ill. If medical treatment helps, we will do it. In Bart's case, we were given multiple options but none of them made logical sense. Thanks for your understanding and kind words.
