This is why helmets are a must! Using my 7 meter kite when winds picked up to 25-30 mph with gusts to 35 mph. Lost control and force broke seatbelt clip and was pulled out of the buggy and dragged for a good 200 feet (60 seconds) before being able to pull release. Smashed head on ground several times, lost both shoes, a few cuts, bumps, scrapes and have a shoulder twice its normal size. Not to mentiion, a big, big headache!

See Part 2 for play by play report.

ALWAYS WEAR YOUR HELMETS FELLOW ENTHUSIASTS!!!!!

  • What did you think would happen with a 7m in 35mph wind??

At no point was it under control, this is not a vid warning about wearing helmets but choosing the correct kite size for the conditions.

  • This is why, after 15+ years of kite buggying I still use a back-strap. Safety releases just don't work instinctively. I still haven't seen a design that works as well as the simple back-strap for safety. The draw-back is your arms shoulders and mid-drift all get a mean workout during a good day in the buggy seat.

  • So, now that you had an almost dead experience, how does it feel to be alive? ;)

  • Ouch

  • genial top video

  • Dude, for the next Time :

Never ever sit down in you Buggy with Seatbelts closed before you start your Kite !

I know you Guys over there do Buggyjumping, and it looks awesome.

But its always much better to start you Kite first when you stand on you Feet.

    A 7 m Kite in 30 - 35 mph Winds sounds scary ...

  • Man! That looked like a really close shave! A good reminder of "what if ..." !

  • esse cara se arrebentou
