This year was a repeat of a popular Pontiac muscle car with that luxury touch. Equipped with the solid V8, 455 cube engine that produced 250 horses continued the tradition of Grand Prix muscle status. The luxury part comes from within - literally. The luxurious appointments found within the interior. Bucket seats, shifter on the console, options that made this car fully loaded were just a few of the details found making this a personal luxury car. Full vinyl roof crowned these GP's along with rally type mag wheels. Front to back, what you see here was another example of what Pontiac Motors use to be. Grand Prix sold well enough again this year with 91,961 units built. Suggested retail price was $4,472. Take this black beauty all in and realize what Pontiac use to dreamup. Thanks very much for viewing this ' 72 Pontiac Gran Prix.

  • I had a black 72 Model J with black interior and factory red carpet. Had it painted and put a red pinstripe on it with some white lettered tires on the factory rally wheels. It was a sharp looker. Drove it to Santa Fe NM one time and got compliments on it everywhere I went. This vid brings back a lot of memories. Thanks

  • @AJ67901 You're another car lover that has sweet memories of a beautiful car they once had. And you definetly had a beautiful car! Thanks for the memory and thanks for enjoying this GP.

  • Beautiful car!My brother had one.Greatest part was in the drivers seat looking out across that long hood. And the way the headlights were shaped on the top.You just have to sit in one and you'll want one.

  • @rival8875 I have always admired the GP. What a design! Beaked grille with twin bumper. Crisp edge on sides from front to back. Yes, those headlights and those unique tailights. It's just simply a design that the engineers put a lot of time in that created this wonderful design. Thanks for enjoying this GP.

  • @pdugicks3 I remember now from the deep recesses of my mind seeing years ago those rear windows wound down and stopped at a slant. So, you are correct. I guess the rear quarter panel caused the window to roll down at an angle and not all the way down. Thanks for the mind refresher and for enjoying this GP.

  • @55lincoln they do roll down. its just very awkward how they go down...almost at a 45 degree angle then half way down they go 45 degrees the other way. its weird as it sounds.

  • @iluvmyAK47 Well thanks for letting me know they roll all the way down. I had the impression that the rear wheel well would interfere with roll down. You are fortunate to have a GP. I love 'em. Thanks for commenting.

  • @55lincoln the back windows in a 72 grand prix will roll all the way down... i would know. i got one! haha... sweet gp tho..

  • @starladear002 I don't know for sure if they roll all the way down, but truthfully, I don't think they do. I just don't think there is enough space in the rear quarter panel to fit the entire window down inside. Thanks for checking out this cool GP.

  • I bet those back seat windows rolled all the way down.
