MPC's founding President, Dato' Zainal Abu Zarin was elected as the first President of Asian Paralympic Committee by 41 member nations of Asia in Kuala Lumpur 2006. He mooted the idea for Asia to hold the 1st Asian Para Games back to back with Asian Games. His dreams was realized recently in Guangzhou 2010 after Guangzhou, China hosted the most successful para games in the history of Asian Paralympic movement. Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) also appointed at least 40 % of Malaysian global leaders to be the technical and classifiers for the running of the games.
