Credit Disputes-Collection Accounts-Charge Offs-Bankruptcies

To clear up something that has been a myth for a long time - Checking your own credit report DOES NOT affect your score.

What if your credit card is stolen?  Does this count as a "lost" card and does it affect your credit rating?

I'm not from the States but live here now. What is a charge off? No idea what a charge off is. What is a child support judgement? Do you mean a judgement made because a parent is delinquent in support payments, or or do you mean simply an order to pay child support when two parents separate?

RE: sliceofheaven123 - A charge-off is when a company removes a consumer debt from their balance sheet. It does NOT mean you no longer owe the debt. It simply means the company has written it off as a loss because they ha turned it over to a collection agency. The company does this to remove the debt from its taxable income. Example: company "X" made $15,000 last year. If they charge-off your debt to them for $1000 then they only made $14,000. This reduces their amount of taxes they owe.

anybody thats wants a great fico score or credit report, deserves to be in debt the rest of there lives. ZOMBIES. its a scam , debt is a curse. avoid it. .
