You psu probably just had around 450watts. since the video card isnt the only thing that needs the power, ur psu broke down. or maybe the psu is cheap but has like 500w which is bad and thats why it worked for those 10 moths. if u want to check the psu by itself take out the video card nd turn on the pc. if it turns on, then ur psu is fine. if it doesnt that means that ur psu is dead and youll need a new good one.

@ostiksoccer the graphics card is radeon HD 5770; and i checked the box and it recommends 450 W or greater but i think the psu (normal one that just came with my acer set up 2 yrs ago) doesnt give enough watts. It worked for 10 months though? idk it would be great if u have any advice. I will take it to a computer next week to see what the problem is or pick up new compents i will need.

Ok first check the Psu and check how much power it gives out. Also check out wat brand it is. Then check out how much power ur video card needs. If you want just gimme ur video card nd ill find out for you.
some pc's come with a cheap psu. to now the difference between gud and bad psu is to feel how heavy it is. a real expensive psu will b HEAVY! a cheap 1 will b light. the more wattage the more weight. tell me how it goes..
