Not posted a video here for ages and decided it was about time to get back into playing the piano again so I decided to learn another cracking song composed by Jacob Lavallee. Unfortunately there is no sheet music as this was all done by ear and I think its fairly close to the original. I hope you enjoy it and please comment, like and subscribe if you want :)

  • Thank you so much for covering this piece! This piece and Threshold's Closing are my two favorites of Jacob Lavallee's. I'm sure that I'll be coming back to your channel from time to time to listen to this. I really have missed listening to this one being played live (well.... sort of live, I guess). I purchased Jacob's album a long time ago. And while I love listening to it, it just isn't the same. Somehow it sounds better when a piece is (more or less) unedited.

    Looking forward to new vids!

  • @bumblebeegoeson are you trying to say that I edit my video's? I just use an external soundcard and cubase and I do it all in one whole take. And I do love thresholds closing, its one that I aim to have learnt and uploaded soon

  • @DanJames15 And to avoid any other misunderstandings: the "sort of live" comment refers to the fact that this is a recording (as opposed to it being played live in my living room).

Again, sorry! I wasn't trying to accuse you of anything. On the contrary, I have nothing but praise for you. You do a wonderful job playing this piece, and I have listened to it quite a few times already!

  • @bumblebeegoeson lol okay, thanks anyway for listening to my videos, much appreciated :)

  • So how come the chap left? He should have just stuck some adverts on his thing and made some dosh.

Flawless performance. I really like that sequential thing at 2:49.

  • @CheekyVimto08 To this day I don't know why he left youtube but I hope to bring his music back to youtube, I have his song "Beauty's Embrace" almost ready for upload so look out for that one. And thank you for watching and commenting on my videos :)

  • @DanJames15 Oh no, I wasn't trying to say that at all. I'm so sorry. Reading it back it does sound like I would be implying that. That was not my intention at all. I was trying to make a general statement (and failed miserably at doing so...) that I don't like music to be overedited. I don't mind editing per se, but I would like to be able to hear that the musicians are human instead of robots (and I can tell that you're human ;).

  • Oh and btw, I sent Jacob a message after he had left Youtube and he said he closed his account because he wanted to start a career in music and didn't want to run the risk of having people steal his music nor did he want to have "silly" videos like a Pirates of the Caribbean Tutorial haunting him.

Too bad, because I thought his playing was superb.

  • @DanJames15 you should do that mate, i'm unfortunate in never hearing any of his stuff originally, but if you could bring it back would be great

  • sounds really good. i think you're a really talented person. keep up the great work :D
