French President Charles de Gaulle warned in 1965 that the International Monetary System based on the United State dollar was a danger to the world. The danger he warned about 47 years ago is now too large to manage.

I'm with De Gaulle on this one. 100% gold for international settlements. There are numerous problems with Triffin's idea of internation paper reserves. He wants a technocracy independent of national governments, working for "humanitarian causes". When bureaucracies become unaccountable to voters, they seem to become accountable to Goldman Sachs. Does the World Bank/IMF have a great record in thier more humble role?

Triffin's idea of 3-5% growth in reserves is highly questionable.
