Stock 2000 S2000 at idle. Turns out the valves needed further adjustment. See my other video for the sound after adjustment.

  • Timing chain tensioner or Valve-adjustment. But this sounds like valve-adjustment

  • @danmobile Did you put Ap2 retainers in it when you had it apart or check for cracked retainers?

  • Hi, no it was the valve lash adjustment. I had just replaced the top end of the motor and after a few miles it needed to be re-adjusted. After this adjustment, the car was silky smooth with no ticking for 10k miles. Please see the second video "S2000 idle sound after valve adjustment".

  • is the tct 100% sure , i bet it gets worse when is the engine is hot , and the part is soo easy to change, tct , timming chain tencioner

    myne was free, self adjusting valves, bitches. vw.

    well, it will depend who will adjust your valves. its not that much, so do it.

  • I was jus wondering how much did they charge u for valve adjustments? My s is making the same knocking noise
