The Greatest Thing? Examining one Apostolic preacher's opinion

To the Jesus Only or Apostolic Oneness Pentecostals, it is essential to be baptized to be saved. It must be done in Jesus' name. Speaking in tongues is also needed for salvation. But does the waters of the baptismal font, river, stream or ocean wash away sin? Is it not the blood of Jesus? Isn't the greatest thing to be born again as a new creation in Christ and have His perfect obedience to God's laws put on your account through faith?

-Yes Romans chapter 6 explains baptism and Acts 4:12 tells us that it has to be in the name of JesusChrist.

-Romans 8:9 says that if we don't have the spirit of Christ we are not of him.

-The tounges thing is the fact that when you speak in tounges you have evidence of the Holy Spirit because otherwise how else how would we know we have it with our human knowledge. So if your just guessing you have the Holy Spirit then your really not sure, so yes you speaking in tounges is the evidence.

Because Jesus said clearly in John 6:44 "No man CAN come to me, except the Father who sent him draw him..."

Have you come to Jesus for salvation? If so either the Father drew you OR Jesus lied. You choose. Now don't tell again tongues are the EXCLUSIVE evidence of having he Holy Spirit. The Father draws through the Holy Spirit.

examine the book of Acts, when the church preached to sinners they told them to repent, they baptized them and made sure they recieved the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:38 was to sinners who asked what was it they needed to do to be saved. Peter didn't say just pray a prayer or believe but told them to repent, to be baptized in JesusChrist name, and that they will recieve the Holy Spirit.

Believing = Obeying, obey scriptue and believe it.

Baptizim in the name of Jesus is the only true way of baptizim! Not by titles of the father son and holy spirit.... but through the only saving name "Jesus"

Yes i totally agree that the father calls us. But what if he calls us and we don't act upon it are we still saved?? How do we get are sins forgiven??

The bible says in Acts 2:38 to be baptized in Jesus name is how we get our sins forgiven so we can't stand in front of God without our sins forgiven.

1 John 2:12 For His name sake we are forgiven our sins and how else do we get his name upon us, not just a prayer but baptism which proceeds from repentance.

ok ok. if you are stating scripture of the Bible when Paul writes to the churches and says things like call upon the name of the Lord or just believe you will be saved that is true. But who is he writing it to? to the church people who have already repented, been baptized, and recieved the Holy Spirit. through those epistles Paul talks about baptism and the Holy Spirit and how its essential.
