((((((www.imjuicing.com))))) My name is Chris and I have had diabetes for 17 years. As far as who I am, I am 27-years old, a father of three beautiful children, and I have the most amazing wife in the world Andrea. I have owned my own business for several years and I coach high school football in the state of Washington. With all this going on, I have come to the conclusion that enough is enough and it is time for a change in my health and in my life.

I usually don't "wear it on my sleeve" that I am a diabetic, because I never have wanted to bother others with it. I have taken fairly good care of my diabetes over the years, but I know that I can always do better and I need better control of my blood sugars. I know there are millions of diabetics out there that are looking for the answer, and I am hoping that this is it.

Now I know that we probably won't find a "cure" per se, but anything that will give me a decrease in my insulin usage, better control of my blood sugars, more energy, and a longer life, that is something worth pursuing.

This is going to be a series that follows me on my iPhone as I go through a 60-day juice fast. This may not be your typical juice fast because I do "blended" fruits and veggies rather than "juiced." Either way, I will be focusing on the fact that raw fruits and vegetables contain the micro-nutrients that we need to cure our bodies of all the sicknesses that we have and experience. With all of the processed foods that each of us eat, we are slowly killing our bodies and not experiencing life. Hopefully this will inspire some diabetics and even non-diabetics to take better care of their health through the application of using food as the natural medicine!

  • @pedalpetals Thanks for watching. I enjoy good fans that have great taste! Please share these with your friends!

  • I usually only include 1/2 to 1 fruits per meal, with the majority of my meal being leafy greens and other vegetables. Thanks for your concern!

  • If people always listened to the doomsdayers of the world, we would never see any progress. Thanks for posting!

  • If you will read my profile on any of my videos you will find the following:

"Now I know that we probably won't find a "cure" per se, but anything that will give me a decrease in my insulin usage, better control of my blood sugars, more energy, and a longer life, that is something worth pursuing."

  • Normally I would agree with you because that has been my experience in the past (because I was accompanying it with fat and grease). What I have found the last six days is that the low glycemic index of fruit and vegetables doesn't spike my bloodsugars. I would agree with you that it may spike it a little more than a blend, but I haven't seen a dramatic difference. Thanks for your support!

Thanks for the information. To be honest I have always thought that fructose must affect insulin, but then in order to do some research I watched "Sugar: The bitter truth" on youtube by Richard Lustig where at about 57:50 minutes in he says 'Fructose does not stimulate Insulin'. More confused than ever I'll admit.

  • @HomeMadeSixPack Wrong! Diabetes education 101, if the word ends in -ose=it's a "sugar". Fructose will most definitely cause an increas in blood sugar/glucose which will cause your body to produce insulin. If you have type one diabetes and your body doesn't make insulin you need to inject it or wear a pump period!

  • I absolutely love your videos!!! Very informative and very colorful!!!

  • You know what, ignore my previous post. I just realised that the simple sugar in fruits, Fructose, does not even stimulate an insulin response! However large amounts of fructose, compared to sucrose (table sugar), such as in fruit juices correlates strongly with hypertension, high blood pressure, high Triglicyerides and lipogenesis. Thats why it's never advisable to drink lots of fruit juice, and if your home made juices are largely fruit, it's the same risks. Again, be careful.

  • I'm looking at the title of one of your videos right now and it says-"day 1-juice fast-quest for a cure for diabetes...You should know by now that NOTHING will cure you of type one diabetes. Don't listen to the "natural/alternative/jesus numbskulls! They may mean well but they don't know what they are talking about period!

  • What you are doing will not cure you of type one diabetes. You are misinformed as I've heard you say things that are just plain inaccurate on your other videos. Please see a diabetes nurse educator and dietician ASAP!
