  • (from prev. post) All that was accomplished was to increase the population of Austin area FIVE FOLD in just 30 years!! Then there is the City Council's move to annex everything into the surrounding counties, make every major highway into a Toll-Road, drive the cost of housing until there are no native Austinites, etc.

The Austin City Council has NO problem at all spending YOUR tax money to bring in MORE tax revenue, increase the size of Austin until it's like Atlanta. Welcome to Austin 2010!

  • I know this may be a pretty dated video, but those things done by the Austin city council to screw-up Austin has been going on for such a long time, this particular example is just the same.

Going back 30 years ago with the incredible tax credits to lure all the high-tech industries to Austin comes to mind. People would now argue that it was a great move that brought in lots of jobs, etc. but the fact is that 9 out of 10 new jobs went to people who had to move in from elsewhere. -continued

  • the city shouldn't support ANY businesses with taxpayer money. period.

  • This has got to stop. Please tell everyone you know in Austin to vote FOR prop 2.
