  • Define agorism with some examples before discussing. I never heard of it.

  • @TeaParty1776 I suggest Wikipedia for a detailed description of agorism.

  • Why so many intelligent people continue to refer to Rand boggles my mind.

  • That should be a strong indicator that your dismissal of her ideas may be unwarranted.

  • My problem with Rand is not so much content but form. If she said A is A then that would be that. The problem is she says "A is A because C is D and if you disagree your a Kantian!!" for confirmation see the account of cropperb.

  • I agree that she can be a bit callous and aggressive. Surely you can get past that though.

  • I'm not an Anarchist (I'm a Minarchist and an Objectivist), but I do agree with some elements of Agorism - especially the idea of counter-economics. It's the economic version of civil disobedience-any capitalist can agree with that. I suppose that if Agorism is revolutionary market anarchism, what I believe is revolutionary capitalist minarchism.

  • Ayn Rand was a very deranged and confused closet agorist. [End posthumous psychoanalysis]

  • @fede2

Agorism adds a class theory and the idea of counter-economics. Plus, unlike ancap, agorism opposes the electoral process and consistently seeks alliances with the revolutionary left.

  • agorism is absurdly redundant. it's existed years before the term was coined. individualist anarchism, market anarchism, anarcho-capitalism, etc.

  • She was a capitalist. She felt that those who earned the money should use and keep the money. As opposed to Jerry Mander---who is as liberal as one can get

  • That name that you cannot possibly pronounce goes like this (read it as is): ron-yar don-ish-old. I only know this because I got the audiobook.
