FOOTSTEPS OF BABUR-Rahul Sharma-Homayun Sakhi-Salar Nader

This track is a first time collaboration between Afghan Rubab and the Santoor. I am very close friends with both Rahul bhai and Homayun khan inside and outside of our musical ties. We had a great time at Star Wars studio's and it was an absolute pleasure and honor to record the entire album at George Lucas Ranch. We are all looking forward to performing live as a trio. . . . stay tuned!

In a modern day encore of the Mughal artistic synthesis, five cosmopolitan-minded musicians from Central Asia, Afghanistan, Northern India, were brought together by the Aga Khan Music Initiative with the aim of merging their musical instruments and traditions to create new sounds. 9 Tracks, 63 Minutes, 44-page Booklet; DVD contains series introduction, 22-minute film, interactive glossary, and map.

The Music of Central Asia Series is a co-production of the Aga Khan Music Initiative and Smithsonian Folkways Recordings. The aim of the series is to present leading exponents of Central Asia's rich and diverse musical heritage to listeners outside the region.

And i am not stating this to put anyone else down but come on, I am sure you know that a lot of so called musicians produce "junk" in the name of art and that is sad. but THIS my friends. this is amazing this is what artistry is truly about. music should be comprehensive and easy to understand and enjoy by anybody. great job you guys.
