Maybe the last time , i don't know... Nothing wrong with the Verve! But, come on!!! The stones in the 60's we're on fire!!!!!!! One awesome song after another. It was rock n roll baby.

It's a shame that The Verve got sued badly for making a great song even better. The worst part about it is that a lot of artists do this. In the world of Hip-Hop, a lot of songs you hear are "sampled" from different tracks from a different time and put into there own perspective. Although in my opinion The Verve made Bittersweet Symphony better then the Stones.

Well all the Verve wanted to do was turn a great raw, crude song into something refined and more appealing to a younger audience, and they added lyrics that fit the music to a T, that required alot of effort. They turned Cocoa beans into chocolate, and if thats a crime, then society is a crime, because thats all we do is a whole as well, improve on all things...if we can.

That is true. But...Richard basically got robbed. Most people would never have heard of the video above if The Verve had not used it.

I have been around a long time and I had never heard this Oldham version prior to hearing The Verve.

My point? It just doesn't seem fair to someone that took the time to WRITE a great song (the lyrics) and then be shaked down by a music publisher.

I hope Allen Klein is rotting in the ground.

A little harsh, it may have been ripped off but Bittersweet Symphony is still a great song. Daft Punk samples other songs, and lots of good hip hop tracks are made with samples, it's something that happens in art, even famous writers have taken ideas from other works
