I don't think James Franco deserves those negative comments, and I think he tried his very best with school. There are 2 things that I can't understand:

1. How could NYU fire a professor simply because he gave one student poor grade?
2. People always talk about the picture that he's sleeping 'in class', but never talk about the pictures that he's reading and studying on movie sets.

I edited a short film about James Franco one month ago, so I watched most of his interviews and saved them on my computer. I quoted these interviews to let you judge yourself.

And this is a video response for the following video, whose uploader hasn't approved me to post it as a response so far.

  • Thumbs Up. Great video. There are always more than one side to a story, always.

  • Well said and thanks for making this vid! I hate when people make scandals out of nothing just to entertain them selves. Wish there were more James Francos in the world. Nobody's perfect, but this man has showed than people can get close to perfection. Instead of attacking him, they should reward him for his remarkable achievements at such a young age.

  • he's got some smile on him haha

  • oh, my god, HE IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOO CHARMING. I LOVE HIM. He´s the boy of my dreams

  • poor Franco! gaaah Professor too much mean, he deserved a better treatment, his acting skills "describe" itself.

  • It doesn't matter that James had no time for class because he was in a movie or taking many other classes. He is the one who chose to do those things knowing he would have to skip classes. If any other student skipped 12 of 14 classes even if they had good reasons they would have been given an F. James seems like a nice young man but he clearly was given preferential treatment.

  • Cant he just have someone record the classes that are just lectures? lol

  • This is such a fantastic tribute.

  • I agree with you happyseed37. I think James is one of the very few young actors who has successfully juggled a career in acting with studying for his degree. He got a D for acting of all things, but just look at 127 hours and his awesome acting. If I were his professor, I would have taken that into account. Hope James continues his excellent acting and one day grab the Oscar that he deserves. Thanks for a great video.

  • omg i love him so much :) my goal: to be a great actor like he is today. i really really want to do what he does

  • omg i love him 3
