@p2rt because its not even an access point its an adhoc connection and psp can only show AP

ok look i have a router across the street at my grand parents house and my house is across the strreet and we have like a little laptop thats wireless and im using it to connect my desktop to the inter net throu the laptops ether net it works but in my desktop has a pci wireless card in it and what i want to do is brodcast my either net connection so i can have wify in my room around my house i have win xp

PSP doesnt show my AP, why?

@BliteKnight I have a Netgear N300 router and i have 2 internet connections one is NETGEAR and on the psp it says not supported and one that says NETGEAR_Guest1 and that one works but I have to figure out a bigger porblem I can not explain can you help or recommed anything

ok my psp says a connection error has occured the access pint was not detected. now what do i have to do
can I use a BELKIN N Wireless Adapter to perform this?

You might be able to, depends if the drivers supports running as a Access Point.

If it can use Ad Hoc mode, it can perform this.

Well, from what I hear - if you connect a PSP in Ad-Hoc mode, it won't go online as this mode is just for connecting one PSP to another.

if i did need ay thing to buy what would it be because i just tryed it like a million times and it sayed access point not detected so im just going to buy my stuff so what do i need please can you tell me im getting it over the weekend.

What you need is a wireless router ($40 -$50). If your firmware is 1.5 you can get one that has 802.11b support. If you have higher than 1.5 you can get one that support 802.11g. Some of the newer ones have support for both. Happy hunting :)
