You never actually see the letter. Adam reads the first half, and then he passes it to Tommy, who reads the rest out loud.

if you wanted to see tommy get real evil, then the cogs should have jumped him outside, with the mood that letter put him in, he would have torn their arms outa their sockets, quite litterly.
