Is HP's Face Tracking Racially Biased? (Part I)

Some have accused HP of racism, after finding that its face tracking software has difficulty picking up darker complexions. However, our tests show the answer is not so clear cut and depends a lot on back lighting.

I believe the camera try to detect the eyes to determine the location of a face. The black guy has his eyes in the shadow, so I think this makes it very difficult for the camera to detect the face.

I love it. Everyone is so fascinated with whether the HP camera can do something completely useless, that they are missing the fact that it's a crappy webcam (as are all HP laptop webcams).

I can just picture in the future my black friends will come over to my house and see my hp computer, and say something like "man i hate hp, they're racist."

Now all the racist skinheads, and nazis are going to only purchase hp products.
