Just posting what I have been working on for the last few months. I have dabbled with Oly lifts before but I never had bumper plates so this is my most legit attempt at programming speed lifts. I did one cycle at 2x per week speed lifting and more recently I cut down to once per week which is obviously slowing down my progress.

A few things:
I know, my form is horrible and the bar keeps swinging away from me and that I keep jumping forward. I am working on that.

I am not trying to set any world records, just want to improve my technique as much as I can. I don't have a coach so any constructive criticism is welcome!

My best clean (as seen) is 225lb, it was like a pseudo power/squat clean. Best squat snatch was 135lb. Best power snatch was 185lb but I don't know how good it was honestly.

On a positive note: my calves grew a TON from this.

  • 3:54 my hat flies off

  • Nice work man! I think sometimes you start the explosive pull too early and could wait a little longer (I do this as well) but in general I think they look allright. You look really strong squatting tho, well done

  • @Demus15 Thanks man! I am still working on my double BW high bar back squat, but I just got 305lb for 2 yesterday. I found out that my quads are my strong point... who would have guess that 27" legs would help me squat better in a high bar position? lol.

  • well done

  • Solid work!

  • @BROZKNOWS Thanks Coach!! I am on it!

  • three things to start with:

    1) don't EVER sit in the bottom unless absolutely necessary to get your balance.

    2) straighten your upper back more in the receiving position

    3) most important- stop "back handing" or doing "reverse curls" when you finish your second pull. keep the bar closer to your chest and this will prevent you from jumping forward.
