My eight month old large standard donkey, Apple Jack, is learning to accept the halter. Prior to this lesson, we had one other halter one where we did simple targeting of the halter. I'm using positive reinforcement clicker training to create a force-free environment for my donk to learn. Watch as I reward him for each little step resulting in a donkey who I put a halter on and off without stress. This entire lesson took about 8 minutes.
AWESOME WORK well done Rhonda:))

I'm going to have to do something similar for Annika. She's TERRIFIED of the bottle of insect repellent I spray the goats with. It's non toxic and doesn't smell bad, but it freaks her out. Today Silly-Head is working on just getting her to take 2 steps toward the bottle and then rewarding.

@groovyoldlady That's a good way to do it. lol. My one horse is really scared of the fly spray bottle too, and I'm going to do something similar with him to get him accept the spray. Clicker training is great for getting them to overcome their fears!!
