What he says near the end is so true. It was a great loss when he passed, luckily he left behind so much wonderful music to enjoy. Nobody beats The Duke.

I don't think i will try to become a musician after all. Everything the Duke says here is and was so true, but nowadays, it's a lot worse, and it is no longer possible for a serious artist to gain any sort of mainstream accept.

Duke was so slick...

Truly a brilliant man. I can't stop watching.

a man ahead of his time

"It has no relationship to music." Damn straight, most pop music stinks. That's why they need a stage full of dancers, T and A, flashing lights/lasers, and an "image".

Thank you for your nice remarks.

Why do 99% of interviewers ask the most pointless, cliched questions? Jesus..it's no wonder many celebs become curt with their fans and the media. Anyway, Duke, Monk and Mingus-three awesome composers.
What he says at the end there is so true!! The only reason kids like most of the music they like is cause it's in style to like it, not because it's any good, the same thing goes for the clothes people wear!
