  • Humour in jazz-not a bad thing

  • This is jazz satire.

  • The main problem is if you don't know Monk and/or the original, you can't get this joke...

  • He does boil it down to its harmonic essence. He boils it to a gray rubbery bratwurst consistency but makes an interesting point in doing so: for all its chromatically descending dominants ( mostly just ii-v's with tritone subs ), and disjunct harmonic motions, Ask Me Now never really modulates to another key.....

  • I am so glad to hear Groiner correct all those extra chromaticisms in Monk's composition.

Lovely Vienese improv line at 1.

  • Ooooh! now I understand jajaja its real comedy!!! :D

  • It warms my cockles to listen to your exterior plantificatives, thus becoming the true, if not the most prestigious example of diatonabulatic specifactorialness that can not only swim in a ninety degree angle, but bubble along with the sonority of angels from Mizvahaven, in order to diagnose further the contradictions of majority versus minority that is usually used in hanging prints on dry wall, but elastic enough to dismember caution and ultimately produce a good polish on my loafers.

  • Sehr geehrter Herr Pfeiler, this video was meant to be funny, also sein's net gleich so böse und lassens die Amis a bissal an spaß machn... ich bin auch Musiker und kann sie (das mit Larry Goldings) irgendwie auch verstehen, aber so lange's net mehr wird lassen wir sie halt machen was sie wollen und sein net gleich so streng mit ihnen.

    Hawedere und schöne Grüße

    J. Kasti
