Here is a new study comparing hookah to cigarette smoking. This study was done just a couple years ago with modern hookah products and known brands. It shows, again, that a hookah session (with actual hookah smokers) produces more smoke, carbon monoxide and nicotine than smoking cigarettes:

these scare tactics are mostly false. i smoked hookah today and hardly had any smoke come out it all depends on the hookah. hookah isnt that bad i even joggin afterwards about 2.5 miles and was fine

Man you really should get some cold sore medicine for those lips. You can't just let that go. Your lips are not pourous and need cream of some sort before it heals. Good luck with that. And on that note back to the hookah!!!!!!!!!:)

#1 yes so can a spoon but if you clean and sanitize the spoon it will be fine. No tar. Additives are same as in your food and its the fruit thats smells. No ammonia. Not smoke its vapor caused by heat, honey glycerin (like glycerin used in fog machines) and water. Doesnt set of a fire alarm becuase their is no CM (not being burnt but baked) and no chemicals. hookah coals heat 350-450F nicotine boiling point appx. 477F. #9I guess you cant have fruit at all then.

@Kahlo69 Yes there is nicotine in shisha. Look at the side of the box, it lists the percentage. I have gotten nicotine buzzes from smoking hookah. I also smoke cigarettes, so I am familiar with the effects of nicotine. There may not be as much nicotine in shisha as cigarettes, but it DOES have nicotine in it.

Quote from Paul Hooper, tobacco policy manager, at Warwickshire Primary Care Trust (PCT) "carbon monoxide levels in Shisha pipes were so high, it was the same as smoking up to 100 cigarettes in just one sitting. He added there was a further risk of users contracting tuberculosis, or herpes from a contaminated pipe."
