Beatbox tutorial - Kick rolls

Kick rolls! The second secret to speedy beatboxing, along with the fast hi-hats. Remember - practice makes perfect. Don't expect to be dropping 250bpm beats right off the mark.

My short beat here was rather quiet and a bit naff, to be honest. I normally use kickrolls in between bars, makes it flow better.

Hot to make the sound:

1 - Learn the dry kick, and learn how to do it with your lips together
2 - Alternate between the kick drum and the dry kick, so you get BdBdBd - think of it as "buddha buddha buddha"
3 - These are the clearest and loudest kick rolls, and also the most frequently used

Or...

1 - Alternate between a kick drum and a hi hat
2 - Do so quickly
3 - Note that this is quite hard to put into the middle of a beat, and suits better as a build up

Or...

1 - Learn the interconnecting hi hats
2 - Do them with your lips together
3 - Note that these are the fastest but quietest kick rolls
