On a cold winter's day, this Red-breasted Nuthatch decided to perch for a while and just look around. This particular variety of Nuthatch is only in this area during the winter months. They are great fun to watch. They are hoarders! They take seed and hide it in the bark of the pine trees.

  • @KJ4TUG Yes it does look like they have a helmet on LOL! I get more of the White Breated Nuthatches here but these guys show up every now and then and are usually fast movers. Looks like this guys was making sure the coast was clear before moving on...
