Sidney Bechet -I Can't Believe You're In Love With Me

Sidney originally played the clarinet but, is best remembered as a master of the Soprano Saxaphone and for the way he could create a "cry" sound from his instrument which rendered it ideal for the "Blues". The same influence may be heard in the sound of Johnny Hodges who was a student of Sidneys.

I am forever astounded by the greatness of these jazz musicians. It is absolutely stunning, especially when you realize many of them recorded in the days before our current hi-tech technology. Studio time was costly so they had to go in and get it right. And my, oh my, did they ever get it right!!! Thanks so much for posting!!!!
