It looks like your dad grabbed himself a true bargain.

Recently whilst doing an internet search on the history of Brough superior they featured a few examples for sale from the Uk and mostly America.

£14,000 seems very reasonable indeed when the average price is around £60-70,000 and mint examples of a SS100 regularly command £100,000.

Ive sat on two over the years, a bit dated but you cannot denie the stunning build quality.

    No wonder Lawrence loved them.

  • @llandudnoboy Wealthy if he bought it recently. My dad bought his SS100 back in '94 for I think about £14,000; and that was expensive at the time... a good investment it turned out to be, though.

  • A wealthy man because a nice example of an SS100 Brough still command around £100,000+ if you can find one.

Still in motorcycle circles the Rolls Royce of motorbikes for build quality and desirability.

  • @Thruxstew MAYBE NICE BIKES I LIKE OLD VINTAGE BIKES OLD BMW ARE NICE TOO OR NORTON OR TRIUMPH

  • M A S T E R :-)

  • A SS80 with a Matchess engine,me want.

  • As you said he will be missed,we both used to meet up every year at the Isle~of~Man TT vintage rally for quite a few years with our Broughs

i posted a pic of him on Flickr sitting on my Mk1 at the 2007 TT a few weeks before he passed away

  • correction to previous comment, Mr A.P. no longer with us, died July 2007, A gentleman, True Biker and Friend R.I.P.

  • I can only assume you mean the person starting this work of art. I took this in 2003 waiting for the fairy on the way to the TT. Belfast port. Every one of these guys were great. I made a DVD of the whole event, I can send you a copy for $10us if you'd like.
