The old protein skimmer wasn't doing so well. Then the pump died so I decided to get a new one. The new one is a Coralife Super Skimmer rated for up to a 220 gallon aquarium. I was amused at how much larger it was than the old skimmer and the fact that it literally would not have fit if it were one inch taller or wider.

  • I have the same skimmer, but i dont see the drain plug. Where is it located?

  • On mine, it is located on the bottom side of the collection cup. There was a little black rubber plug that sticks out, which I had to remove.

By the way, my Super Skimmer 220 started leaking where the red nob is. I replaced the skimmer with an MR-2 model. I have a video of that as well.

  • so hows the new Coralife Super Skimmer 220 working for you im going to get the same one do you still like it

  • I personally really like it. I know some people have had some issues with it overflowing, but I have never had that issue. It does have a drain plug in the cup and I have run a piece of airline tubing from that to a 1 gallon milk jug. For my needs, it's great.

  • аквариум рыбке никогда не заменит море или океан, да к томуже еще и шумное это дело!

  • the new skimmer you got cant it hang on the back of the tank or go in a sump? correct? cant it do both?

  • Hi there, I have a Nautilus Skimmer you replaced I don’t know if it is the same size but is kinda the same model, it has been running for about two years but lately the collection cup overflow and it seems it is not filtering as it should because the water or foam is not as dark as it used to be, the air inlet tube is not clogged with salt and/or calcium deposits so I don’t know what is it wrong

  • You sounds like a very happy guy ;D

  • Hi :) have a question, i know theres hang on the back skimmers but how do the other ones work? Do they make a whole in ur tank and also ur stand? Please explain im very confused :(. Thanks. :D

  • @thefishguy225 IDK how he did, but what i did was just get a piece of airline tubing and place it in the hole in the cap of the skimmer collection cup. Then just silicone the hell out of it fill the gaps. Then just place the other end back into the sump or into a jug like he did. That way, in the even that it overflows, it won't spill water onto the floor. If you lead the tube back into your sump, than you won't have to worry about the pumps running dry from water loss either

  • the air in piece with 2 nibs to attch 2 for venturie

a secert i learned with mine

plug air pump into second nib on air intake

instead of skimmer sucking random amonuts form air

the pump pumps in constanst amonut of air so easy to tune and get better perfermene

  • ur laughing was makin me laugh..haha!

  • how do you install a drip hpse?
