wish i could learn to speak Japanese, i am a huge fan of the comic, and my friends and i have been trying to learn the language so we could do a cosplay, and of course for some reason they chose me to be Miho, when i have no idea how to speak Japanese, and i also have to be Kimiko!!! did you learn on your own? or are you just fluent in it?

you really know how to pronounce the words. Most people who try to pronounce it mangle the whole thing but you did a good job. Good Work!!!

They have invented a clever tool called subtitles. I can guarantee that IF an anime were made, it would have Japanese audio when it is intended to have Japanese, but with SUBTITLES. It would not be that difficult to do, and would show the true flow and content that Gallagher intended.

you... agent... get one... fred galagher... find him... voice actress... become one... kimiko... you are...

@zankudragon more than likely when they animate this really the japaneese characters will still speak japaneese when they do it around largo cause he doesn't understand them the english translations are only on screen when Piro is cause he understands. All tht goes out teh window after Largo gets his translator so its going to be a mix

Oh my god, this girl sounds like the voice actor for Yukari in persona 3 FES. I think she also does the english Rukia for Bleach. Crazy!

Yeah, like when they wanted to make a point you'd hear it in Japenese. I don't know. They could do it in any way they want, but I would honestly prefer being able to understand what I'm hearing. The only time I watch something in Japenese anyway is when and English DUB is REALLY bad.
-
Hmm. That's prolly true. It'd take something away from it, but nothing could really be done. Maybe they'd do it like in the comic, for the really intense language scenes, Fred Gallagher just writes in romaji, and that's when we hear the Japanese.

I can see what you mean. Like I said, subtitles would be great, the problem is I can't understand Japenese. I'm sure others would have a problem with it too. If we were watching network televison or something, I bet you viewers would be frustereted with subs, everyone prefers English Dubs nowadays. I personally would prefer it in English. Other indications that they are speaking in japenese could work, maybe an English voice over the japenese or something.
ok if they made megatokyo into a show it would be in english first of all it was made in america and second the author is american as zankudragon stated below.

I do realize this. Most of it will be in English. However, a great deal of the comic is intended as Japanese-- Can you think of a better way to express that? Even in Japanese anime, set in Japan, there are parts done in English. Sometimes with no Americans present.
Also, there are entire pages of Megatokyo done in Japanese. Examples include the scene in which Kimiko chases and catches a rather drunk Largo.
You have some good points, but it's something that our group decided together.

IDIOTS, EVEN IF IT TURNS INTO AN ANIME IT WOULD BE IN ENGLISH, THE AUTHOR IS AMERICAN!!! sorry to break it to ya...

Thank you very much for your incredibly intelligent take on this. You do seem to have missed one tiny fact, however. That being that we ourselves are putting this together, and thus have a decision in the matter.
Also, the authors of many manga are Japanese-- Should none of those have English? I know of many series that have English in the Japanese, and many more that have been translated.

ok didn't know sorry about that. Thanks for the info.

Don't worry about it. I lurk in the forums a lot, so I found it out there. It's not a pronunciation that an English speaker would naturally expect: I know I wouldn't have guessed it. n_n
Have a nice day!
