Because of story's like this one manufactures are starting to make car seats with rear facing weight limits even higher than the typical 35 pounds. My son's seat goes to 45 pounds rear facing and I know of one that goes to 40 pounds rear facing.

Great insight video. I know it had to of been hard to does this video. I am getting ready to have my first child. I am trying to learn all that I can. Birthing classes tell me the 20 lbs and 12 months face them forward. This video, has changed a lot. Thank you thank you. It has almost been a year, how is he doing? Sorry for the long comment, but I want to show my appreciation for this video. God bless.

GOD bless you and your family. Thank GOD he's OK. Thanks so much for this info. I am 8 months pregnant w/ my second child and WILL keep her rear faced way over 4 year or over 50 lbs. My first daughter is at that stage to be okay front facing. 4 and at 50lbs.
GOD BLESS YOU for "loving" me to share this tragic, yet informative video.
Thanks again....

Your baby should be rear facing until they reach the weight limits for rear facing car seats. Your baby should not be in a rear facing car seat if they are over the weight limit for the seat. This video shows just how important it is to keep your baby rear facing for as long as they can (until they reach the weight limit for the seat).
