Artist meets artist interview. This is part 1 of the Sick Drummer Magazine interview of Chevelle's drummer Sam Loeffler for SD's Off-Beat section. The interview was conducted by SD columnist Paul Wandtke (Kill Hannah/Independent) at the Cotillion in Wichita, KS on Nov. 9, 2009.

I love me some Sammy but Travis Barker (Blink-182) & Jose Pasillas (Incubus) are incredible drummers. Sam's super rad tho

@xTHURMANxMURMANx I think Keith Moon was the best I ever heard. Sam is a really fine drummer. The Offspring's former drummer and current drummer keep a blistering beat. I'll look into Travis Orbin. Maybe I've heard him w/out realizing it.

It was insightful to know what a huge contribution Dean has presented to Sam over the years. Hopefully, Chevelle will perform for many great years to come!

sam loeffler might be awesome and all, but he is NOT a sick drummer...I think Derek Roddy or George Kollias fit that category better.

@indiadrummer He's not an actual Sick Drummer in the SD world of things but he was interviewed for Sick Drummer's "Off Beat" interview section where they interview other styled drummers for the sake of keeping it interesting and fresh. Stay tuned for other issues.
