AURORA
On a frozen hill
Coated with snow
My body is laid to rest
Never did they cover my face
The memories etched in my eyes
People came to see
Enveloped by flames
Charred is the child already
Because I was late
Flown has the soul already
Gone is the screaming already
The prize of the tipping candle is high
My mind is put out as God stole from me
Beloved the most the child is
As it became the lights of the north
Burdened by my loss
My lungs harden and my eyes freeze
People know it is too late for me to say
You have always made me proud
A distant beating of the heart
Beats only sometimes
Only for a little while
Warming my body
Then thawed become my frozen eyes
They begin to seek
Unswiftly tracking the northern lights
Until they freeze again
Leaving me forever defeated
