The Wee Blinky kit can be used with incandescent bulbs instead of the supplied LEDs for a completely different look: very retro, warm and emitting light in all directions. This would look great as a model railroad crossing signal or anywhere you need a couple of flashing lights.

To use incandescent bulbs instead of LEDs, just omit the LEDs, resistors R1 and R4 from the board, then install the bulbs from the bottom terminals of both the missing LEDs and resistors. Using 12V bulbs, the modded Wee Blinky kit works well from 9V to 12V. Starving the kit with 6V or so produces a very "nixie" looking orange glow. Play around with it and let me know what you come up with!

Thanks for watching!
