condensers are powered dynamics are not you are describing the pattern omni cardioid super cardioid etc
omni pick up everything around them and cardioids what is infront of them and super cardioid even narrower like Sennheiser 416
so this would likely be a front address cardioid dynamic

@mac8king thanks for the comment, but Leo Laporte and all the top broadcasters who have tried other mics say this is the best. Also your not comparing apples to apples here your comparing a condensor mic to a Dynamic mic. The PR40 is a Dynamic mic. Thanks

Hey steve.. not to bother you or anything but, i don't agree by saying that the PR40 is the best mic out there.. check out the Telefunken AK47. Telefunken is one of the most legendary microphone brands.. check them out.
